Obituary of Donald Weaver

The passing of Donald James Weaver of Doaktown, NB, occurred on September 21, 2015 at the Veterans Health Center at the age of 84. Born on September 14, 1931 in Doaktown, NB, he was the son of the late Perley and Helen (Donald) Weaver. Donnie proudly served in the Canadian Armed Forces was a Korean War veteran. Donnie is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carrie; daughter, Kim Emerson (Don); son, Donald “Jerry” (Marilyn); granddaughter, Christina; great granddaughter, Sophia; sisters, Olive O’Donnell, Carol Russell (Bill); brothers, Norris, and Gerald. Besides his parents, Donnie was predeceased by his sisters, Eva Walls and Marion Harvie; brothers, Ivan, Lyman and Archie. Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon, NB, on Friday, September 25, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #23 are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 6:30 pm for a Legion Tribute Service and members of the Masonic Landmark Lodge #51 are asked to assemble at 6:45 pm for a Masonic Lodge Tribute. A Funeral Service will be held from the Miramichi Valley Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul McGrattan officiating. Interment will take place in St. Thomas United Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Doaktown Community Library or the Doaktown Elementary School Breakfast Program.
