Obituary of Vincent Merritt

Life Legacy The passing of Vincent Myles Merritt, husband of Dorothy (MacLeod) Merritt of Maple Grove, NB occurred on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton, NB. Born on November 15, 1930 in Maple Grove, NB, Vincent was the son of the late Myles and Alvretta (Cornish) Merritt. Vincent was a brick layer and a woodsman. He loved horses and the outdoors. In addition to his wife of 36 years, Vincent is survived by a daughter, Jo-Anne Dunphy (Allan Jarvis) of Fredericton, NB; step-daughter, Ellen Wood (James) of Fredericton, NB; step-sons, Gregory Keetch (Jean), Allison Keetch (Dominique) and Stuart Keetch (Brenda), all of Alberta; ten step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mildred Boone of Fredericton, NB and Shirley Shields (Douglas) of Nashwaak Village, NB; sister in law, Freda Merritt of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Althea Wilson; his brother, Enis Merritt and brother in law, Gerald Boone. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 2 pm with Mr. Wally Ellis DLM officiating. A reception will follow. Interment will be in Hillcrest United Cemetery, Stanley, NB.
