Obituary of Antonietta Riti

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Antonietta (D’Andreamatteo) Riti, wife of Massimo Riti, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on September 10, 2015. Born on May 1, 1930 in Atri, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Giuseppe and Assunta (Mattucci) D’Andreamatteo. Antonietta was a very proud, compassionate and loving wife, mother and friend. She truly cherished and loved all her family and friends. She held a special place in her heart for all her nephews and nieces. She will always be remembered for her caring heart and special smile. Besides her husband of 65 years, she is survived by her daughters, Frances Seca (Nardine) of Fredericton, NB and Assunta Blackier (Jack) of Quispamsis, NB; her son, Antonio Riti of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Trina and John Seca and Adam and Michael Blackier; sister, Assunta Nespoli (Nicola) of Atri, Italy; brothers, Bruno D’Andreamatteo (Louise) of Hamilton, ON and Mario D’Andreamatteo (Rina) of Port Dover, ON; sisters-in-law, Lucia D’Andreamatteo of Fredericton, NB and Mariannina D’Andreamatteo of Hamilton, ON; many nieces and nephews in Italy and Canada. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Nadina Astolfi and Gulia Pastucci (Atri,Italy); brothers, Michele D’Andreamatteo (Fredericton, NB), Antonio D’Andreamatteo (Hamilton, ON) and Alessandro D’Andreamatteo (Atri,Italy). Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Sunday, September 13, 2015 from 4 to 7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated from St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, 603 Union Street, Fredericton, NB on Monday, September 14, 2015 at 11 am with Father Monte Peters officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Michael Blackier, Mario D’Andreamatteo, John Seca, Joseph McMullin, Nicholas DiCarlo and Lucas DiCarlo. Interment will take place at Hermitage Cemetery, Fredericton, NB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Extra Mural Program, Canadian Cancer Society or to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
