Obituary of Frank Holt
The passing of Frank Arthur Holt of Oromocto, NB, husband of Helen (Hope) Holt and the late Ruth E. Holt (Brown) occurred on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born on November 25, 1933 in Goshen, NB, he was the son of the late Captain Charles Wesley and Alberta (Hicks) Holt. Frank served 32 years with the Royal Canadian Air Force. Upon his retirement he opened Holt’s Shoe Repair where he saved soles and provided the local community with heels to clog, tap and jazz it up. He was a member of the local square dance community for many years and also enjoyed golfing, especially with the senior men’s group at the Gage Golf and Curling Club.
In addition to his wife, Frank is survived by his two sons, David Holt (Donda) of Fredericton, NB and Dan Holt (Shyanne) of Waterville, NB; five grandchildren, Kimberly Bullen (Jamie) of Amherst, NS, Katherine Ward (Pat) of Peace River, AB, Shayla Holt of Fredericton, NB, Nick Holt of Oromocto, NB and Sarah Holt of Waterville, NB; two great grandchildren, Joshua Bullen and Alexandria Ward; sisters, Ethel Bannister of Spencer Home, Moncton, NB, Vernisha Yabsley (George) of Toronto, ON, Edith Corey of Salisbury, NB and Eva Fahie (Bernie) of Allison, NB; brothers, Charles and Herbert Holt, both of Peticodiac, NB, John Holt (Dianne) of Riverview, NB; sister-in-law, Valerie (McWilliams) Brown of Summerside, PE; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and first wife, he is predeceased by his grandson, Korey Holt; sister, Eudora Hicks; brothers, Robert, James and Richard Holt.
Visitation will take place at Oromocto Baptist Church, 10 Doyle Street, on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at the church on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 11 am with Dr. Rev. Perry Hanley officiating. A reception will follow. Interment will take place in Pine Hills Cemetery, Salisbury, NB at 3 pm with Rev. John Holt officiating. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
