Obituary of Ross Frederick Trail

Life Legacy Trail, R. Frederick “Fred” Woodman The passing of R. Frederick “Fred” Woodman Trail of Keswick Ridge, NB, husband of Areta (Sandwith) Trail occurred on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital with his wife and daughters at his side. Born on September 16, 1938 in Lower Southampton, NB, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Laura (Woodman) Trail. Fred retired from Island View Equipment. Not one to have idle hands, he returned to work seasonally with Department of Natural Resources. He loved country music, dancing, socializing with friends, reading and watching TV. Prior to Fred’s diagnosis of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), Fred’s interests included horses, beekeeping, and woodworking. He loved spending time with his family and particularly enjoyed teasing and tormenting his grandchildren. In addition to his wife of 57 years, Fred is survived by his three daughters, Brenda (Carl) Jones of Burtts Corner, NB, Lori (Graham) Hill of Douglas, NB and Tracey (Dave) Gorman of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Jenelee Jones, Shawn Jones, Trent (Katie) Hill, Courtney Hill, Travis Gorman and Brett Gorman; three sisters, Winona “Nonie” (Doug) Taylor of Sudbury, ON, Mavis (Ralph) Brown of Fredericton, NB, Gaynel (Garth) Williams of Douglas, NB; brother, Neill (Linda) Trail of Regina, SK; sisters-in-law, Freda Henderson, Ethel Burlock, Hepsey (Richard) Edgar, Sandra (Earl) Gilbey, Helen (Danny) Parker, Nancy Sandwith and Lois Sandwith in addition to several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Fred was predeceased by his brother, Donald Trail; sister-in-law, Evelyn Grant; brothers-in-law, Malcolm Sandwith, John Sandwith, Willard Grant, Eldon Henderson and Carl Burlock. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 from 6-8 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. A private family interment will take place at the Seymour Memorial Cemetery, Kingsley, NB.
