Obituary of Shirley Farrell
The passing of Shirley Eileen Farrell wife of the late Charles Farrell, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Wednesday August 26, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on November 5, 1936 in Marysville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Alfreda Mae (Wade) Stewart. Shirley was Past President of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Marysville Branch #15. She enjoyed knitting, playing bingo, darts, shuffle board, and bowling, and loved pigs.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Wendy Wilson (Douglas) of Haneytown, NB; grandchildren, Amy Cole (Kevin), Jamy Fallon (Alex); great grandchildren, Megan Greer, Carlie Cole, Alyssa Marshall, Hannah Cole, Lucas Cole, Emma Marshall, Josie Marshall, Royke Fallon; great great grandson, Adden Greer; sisters, Merna Dunphy (Bob) of Fredericton, NB; Joyce Jones of Kelowna, BC; brothers, Fred Stewart (Mary) of Fredericton, NB, and Stephen James “Jim” Stewart (Linda) of Saskatoon, SK; several nieces and nephews; two cats, Rocky and Jackie. Besides her husband and parents, Shirley was predeceased by her grandchildren, Charleen Rose Lyons and Bryon Douglas Wilson; brother, Melvin Stewart and sister, Joan Jamerson.
There will be no visitation, a Memorial Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Interment will take place at the Alexander Gibson Memorial Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the John Wood Foundation.
