Ray was truly one of a kind. I was honored to have him as a department head and friend. Some of the best advice and encouragement that I have ever received came from Ray. Many times we tell ourselves we should, but more so than not, put it off for another day.
Many times I have thought of tracking down Ray, but would end up leaving it for "next tiem I am down that way. He and I did our CF Recruit training together & during the ten weeks, became what I consider good friends. Just the other day I was thinking about a fishing trip he took me on after my grtaduation from Borden in '87, and almost butted heads with a bull moose as we canoed down a small inlet. We lost touch as my postings became further away and Ray left the military, but we went through our military initaition together, and because of that, thoughts of him would pop up from time to time.
I was truly saddened to learn of his passing.

Good day. I am not sure if I have the right person but the name, the dates and the appearance seem to suggest to me that I do. My name is Hank Williams and I taught French in Fredericton Junction from 1974 until 2000. I believe Raymond, who lived in Tracy, was one of my students. He was one of the nicest people any teacher could have asked for and his death deeply saddens me. I am happy to see that he taught as I always thought he'd make a great teacher. If I am incorrect as to his identity please accept my condolences regardless.

The day I started working at STM I was a bit nervous ~ I arrived in May of that school year and was a wee bit intimidated. One of the first people I met was Ray with a big grin on his face ~ he was so kind and made me instantly feel welcome to the STM family. And his kindness & big smile never changed over the years ~ he was such a genuine (and goofy!) person. We all hoped for Ray to get better, and I'm so sorry that it wasn't meant to be. :'(
