Obituary of Laurence Rosborough

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Laurence Alfred Rosborough on August 7, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Laurence was born in Harvey, NB on October 14, 1937 to the late Sterling and Blanche (Rose) Rosborough. Laurence worked at Savages Bicycles Shop for 19 years, custodian at Saint Andrews Presbyterian Church for 22 years and maintenance at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital for 24 years. Laurence loved to hunt, fish, pamper the birds in his backyard and was very proud of his flowers and vegetable gardens. In winter he loved to do jigsaw puzzles and make wood ornaments. Above all Laurence loved his family and the many family gatherings at his home. He will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew him. Laurence is survived by his loving and devoted wife Cathy (Catherine Goodine) of 54 years, his children John (Francine) of Deep River, Joan (Robert Hachey) of Douglas, Cindy of Fredericton, Larry of Calgary, Cheryl Peacock (Greg) of Airdrie, Lisa (Jaddus Noel) of Moncton; his grandchildren Trish, Cara, Jacqueline, Steven, Ashley, Amanda, Joshua, Megan and Camrin; brothers, Claude of Newmarket, ON and Lloyd (Noreen) of Harvey. He was predeceased by his parents, sisters Jean and Joyce, brothers George, Doug, Malcolm and their spouses, Herb, Charlie, Lena, Audrey, and Florence and sister-in-law Marlene. Also, nieces and nephew, Blanche, Judy and Gregory Daley. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Savita Karol for the excellent care given to Laurence and the care and friendship extended to Cathy. Also, a heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful nurses of 4NW who took very good care of Laurence and Cathy, some of them going above and beyond in many ways. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 from 1-3 and 6-8 pm. A Private Family Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel with Rev. Basil Lowery officiating. Interment will take place in Dayton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Alzheimer Society, Diabetes Association or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
