Obituary of Dawn Haines

The passing of Dawn Florence (Whitten) Haines, wife of the late Ellsworth Haines, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on August 5, 2015 at Oromocto Public Hospital. Born on November 6, 1926 in London, England, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Ann (Mainsfield) Whitten. Dawn was a member of St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Fredericton, NB and a member of the War Brides and Red Cross. She was Assistant Editor of the Atlantic Advocate and worked at the Daily Gleaner. She was a loving mother and a loyal friend. Dawn loved the small things in life and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her. Dawn is survived by her sons, Alan (Lucille) and Gregory (Jane) both of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Christopher, Brent, Christina, Sarah, Matthew and Elizabeth; great grandchildren, Adrienne, Sebastian and Maria. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Friday, August 7, 2015 from 7 to 9 pm. A Graveside Service will be held in Burtts Corner Community Cemetery on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 11 am with Rev. Canon Jon Lownds. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Red Cross Society.
