Obituary of Jean Gibson

The passing of Jean Eileen Gibson, wife of the late Stafford Gibson of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on August 19, 1927 in Lancaster, England, she was the daughter of the late William and Jean (Ellis) Hoswell. Jean was proud to be a war bride and worked for the Canadian Government in the Treasury Department during the war. She attended St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Zealand, NB and St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Fredericton, NB, being involved with the ACW as well as Meals on Wheels. Jean was a member of the Eastern Star, Boiestown, NB. Jean is survived by her sons, Vance Gibson (Bernie) of Hanwell, NB and Anthony Gibson (Shay) of Flower Mound, Texas; daughters, Wendy Gibson (Clyde) of Nashwaak Bridge, NB, Tracey Gibson (Jeff) of Fredericton, NB and Marie Green of Geary, NB; 20 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Pam Hayhurst; nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Jean was predeceased by her daughter, Carolyn Ruff; granddaughter, Sonya Lynn; brother-in-law, Harold Hayhurst There will be no visitation by request. A Graveside Service will take place in Nashwaak Bridge Community Cemetery on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 1 pm with Father Kevin Stockall officiating.
