Obituary of Gordon Clowater

The passing of Gordon Arthur Clowater, husband to Barbara (Graves) Wilcox of Fredericton, NB occurred on Sunday , August 2 , 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on July 10, 1939 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of the late Ernest and Edith (Foshay) Clowater. Gordon was a second generation owner of E W Clowaters & Sons Plumbing and Heating along with his two brothers Donald and Wesley. He was a member of the Nashwaaksis United Church, Fredericton City Club, Y’s Men Club and Nashwaaksis Old Timers Hockey. Gordon enjoyed coaching hockey and baseball and playing golf, biking and bowling. In addition to his wife , Gordon is survived by his sons, Brent Clowater of Fredericton, NB, Jeff Clowater (Patricia) of Douglas NB; grandchildren, Justin and Kristen; first wife and mother of his children Edith Doak; sister, Pauline Stephenson of Lower Hainesville, NB; brothers, Jimmy Clowater (Barbara) of New Maryland, Wesley Clowater (Helen) of Fredericton, NB, Jack Clowater (Linda) of Fredericton, NB, Jerry Clowater (Donna) of Scarborough, ON; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Gordon was predeceased by his brothers, Harold and Donald Clowater. The family would like thank Dr Gordon MacDonald, the nurses and staff of 4NE and the commissionaire staff for their kindness and support. A celebration of Gordon’s life will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday August 6, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A private interment will take place at Fredericton Rural Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society or Jumpstart.
