Obituary of Willard McCloskey

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Willard Patrick McCloskey of Fredericton, NB, husband of Noreen (Briggs) McCloskey which occurred on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on December 16, 1935 in Boiestown, NB, he was the son of the late Henry “Murray” and Margaret “Ella” (MacDonald) McCloskey. Willard spent his working years at Maritime Beverages, Pepsico. In addition to his wife, Willard is lovingly remembered by his children, Kimberley (Mike) McCloskey-Lint, Glen (Rose) McCloskey and Rick (Hughina) McCloskey; grandchildren, Ethan, Samuel, Matthew, Lisa, Kathryn, Jeanette, Justin, Jacqueline, Zachary, Andrew, Brandon and Megan; great grandchildren, Brett, Cohl and Kai and Max; sisters, Greta D’Amours, Mona Smith and Rita Cullinan; daughter-in-law, Valerie Olmstead. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his son, Kolin McCloskey and infant son, Gary; sisters, Frances Nelson, Helena MacDonald and Joan Palmer. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, on Monday, May 4, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 4 pm with Father Monte Peters as Celebrant. Interment will take place in St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
