Obituary of Lorne Merrithew

The passing of Lorne Edward Merrithew of Burtts Corner, NB, husband of Rose Eleanor Merrithew, occurred on May 1, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on August 21, 1925 in Brewers Mills, NB, he was the son of the late Frank and Florence (Brewer) Merrithew. Lorne enjoyed salmon fishing, hunting, woodworking and playing cribbage. He was a past member of Miramichi Salmon Association and the Snowmobile Club. He also enjoyed going to auctions. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Deanna King (Carl) of Keswick Ridge, NB; his sons, Tony Merrithew (Debbie) of Ottawa, ON, Monte Merrithew (Barbara) and Edward Merrithew (Sharon) both of Burtts Corner, NB; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and 1st wife Dora Madeline Merrithew, he is predeceased by his sisters, Nellie Brewer, Myrtle Crouse, Juanita London, Georgina Brewer, Effie Burtt and infant sister, Marina; brothers, Henry and David Merrithew, as well as an infant brother, Paul. Visitation will take place at Cornerstone Bible Church, Burtts Corner, NB, on Monday, May 4, 2015 from 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at the church on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 11 am with Pastor Steve Matthews officiating. Interment will take place in Pickard-Merrithew Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Cornerstone Bible Church, Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
