Life Legacy With great sadness we announce the passing of Christopher Mark Thomas of Cardigan, NB on Wednesday, April 29, 2015. Born on January 8, 1982 in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of Leigh Thomas and Betty (Corrier) Thomas. Chris was born and raised in Cardigan, where he lived most of his life. He was a self-made mechanic and could often be seen helping others with their vehicles. When he did something he strived to do it well. Chris had a strong sense of responsibility. He was very resourceful and handy. Chris’s family and friends were extremely important to him. He was quick to lend a hand no matter where or when the help was needed. He would always put others before himself. An avid outdoors man, Chris had a love for everything in nature. He loved animals and seemed to have a way with them. He liked hunting, fishing, four wheel driving and dirt biking. Chris enjoyed playing his guitar and playing hockey. His guitar and his truck were among his prized possessions. Chris loved to spend time with his friends and family. He had a good sense of humor and enjoyed a laugh. Chris was a gentle soul and had a big heart. In addition to his parents, Christopher is survived by his girlfriend, Gail Dunlap; brother, Peter Thomas (Mandi); nieces, Taylor and Emily; aunts and uncles, Muriel Peterson (Sonny), William Corrier (Mariette), Nelson Corrier, Diane Irvine (Bev), Ross Thomas (Heather), Brenda Hayes (Kerry), Janet Merritt (Bob), Sherry Munn (Dwight) and Lori Thomas. He was predeceased by, maternal grandparents, Elric and Opal Corrier; paternal grandparents, Douglas and Florence Thomas; aunts and uncles, Mark Corrier, Tony Corrier, Vernon Thomas, Karen White and Bruce Thomas. Pallbearers for the service will be Adam Currie, Jeremy Hawkes, Jamie Merritt, Mike Carrier, James Dorcas and Nick Colford. Honorary Pallbearers are Tremaine Doiron and Rhys Gullison. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, May 4, 2015 from 12-2 pm followed by a Funeral Service at 2 pm with Mr. Wally Ellis (DLM) officiating. Interment will take place in North Cardigan United Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donor’s choice.
