To Rex - A Wonderful Brother-in-Law and Friend:
You were always so thoughtful
Kind and content
Friends you made
Wherever you went
To a well-lived life
A sudden end
You died as you lived
Everyone's friend
There is a link
Death cannot sever
Within our hearts
You live forever.
I will miss you, especially your visits.

Aunt Betty, Rexanne, Corey, Shannon, and families...Our hearts are broken as we have lost someone we love dearly. Uncle Rex was the kindest, most gentle man and we always looked forward to your visits and our chats with him. His passing leaves a big space in this world but we will forever cherish our memories. My most special memories are the dance lessons! We are keeping you in our thoughts and praying that the love that he gave his family will help you in the days ahead.

Dear Betty,
We still cannot believe what we read in the newspaper on April 27, 2015. I was upset all day; had not heard that Rex was ill.
I had just mentioned to Gerry that we should hire him to do some work for us. It was so nice to have someone who would do small jobs. We enjoyed having you join Rex to give him a hand. We always took time to stop and take a break with a cup of tea and a snack which Gerry enjoyed SO MUCH.
We can only imagine how much you and your family, his and your relatives and friends will miss him. We do.
With our deep condolences and love. May God comfort you and your family as you go through your bereavement.

It's with a sad heart I hear of Rex's passing. He was a great friend and co-worker. Rex is that guy as Geoff said earlier who would be the first to introduce himself, and helped a lot of the new starters on the job. He touched a lot of lives and for sure painted a lot of people's walls that made people happy. Happiness was a big part of him. If heaven needs a fresh coat of paint, they just got their master painter, he will probably ask for eggshell 946A. Betty, Corey, Tonda, Shannon, Sheila, Rexanne, Paul and family's our thoughts and prayers are with you through this time. Memories are the best and we will carries these forever.

Rex my brother and my friend, Rex was the one who taught me how to drive, he was the one who gave me my first job , by helping him to do janitorial work. This is how I got my first car. he taught me how to become a projectionist at the Wavell theatre in Bishops Falls and also to be a part of the Valley Drive in theatre in later years.
My brother was kind and loving to everyone he met. When he moved away I missed him! He visited us once a year he came back last year in September and painted our living room for us . Madelyn wanted him to accept some pay for what he did for us.it took him 3 whole days to complete , but he said its just as well I didn't do it if I have to be paid ,he said you are my family. We were so thankful for his generosity! Rex may you rest in peace and I hope that one day we will see each other again. So long My brother and our friend. Love you Rex .. until we meet again...David and Madelyn

11 years ago when I moved to Yellowknife I met a friend that impacted my life in a wonderful way. His name was Rex Champion.
It was that awkward moment of starting a new job as I did not know anyone around me. Rex was the first person to approach me. He asked me my name, and introduced himself. He asked me the standard; where are you from and what do you do? Within a minute of meeting him we knew each other’s short history. He explained to me that he was in his 60’s, but he feels like he’s in his 20’s. You could look at him and guess his age; you’d have to work with him to understand his other statement. Rex loved to work, more specifically paint. I worked with Rex at the same company for the next 3 years.
10 years ago Rex handed me a folded up napkin he had been carrying around in his pocket. It had his Granddaughters name (Lesley Champion) and phone number on it. Needless to say I called it and we’ve been together ever since. She’s been my wife for 8 years and we have 2 beautiful boys.
I was welcomed into the Campion family with open arms. It was nice to be a part of as my immediate family was across Canada in Newfoundland.
There are a lot of good memories in between now and then. It saddens me to say that Rex has passed.
I would like to say this to Rex’s Family and friends; I am truly grateful of that man, and all he has done for me and my family. You impacted my life by simply being a friend. My path could have been much different if I did not meet you. I will always remember you as my friend and more importantly a member of my Family.
