Obituary of J. Eloi Gallant

The passing of J. Eloi Gallant of Fredericton, NB, husband of Marian (Nicholls) Gallant occurred on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 1, 1926 in St. Charles, NB, he was the son of the late Antoine and Lea (Richard) Gallant. Eloi was a certified drug store clerk, retiring in 1991. In addition to his wife, Eloi is survived by his daughter, Marie Mitchell of Restigouche, QC; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; step daughters, Maxine (Willie) and Mary Jean (Joe); step sons, Stephen (Janice), Stewart (Jeannette), Leslie (Beryl), Allan (Penny) and Bruce (Sharon); several step grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Alice Dysart of Moncton, NB; brother, Tilmon Gallant of St. Charles, NB. A private family visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive. A Memorial Mass will take place at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 11am with Father Monte Peters as celebrant. Interment will take place at Alexander Gibson Memorial Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
