Obituary of Leland Henry
The passing of Leland Clifford Henry of Fredericton, NB, husband of Gertrude (Rosborough) Henry occurred on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at home. Born on November 9, 1922 in Lower Southampton, NB, he was the son of the late Clifford and Laura (Pike) Henry. He was a member of Gibson Memorial United Church, the Orange Lodge (Pokiok); Barkers Point and Nashwaaksis Senior Clubs. Leland was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels for eleven years.
In addition to his wife, Leland is survived by his daughter, Jean Henry of Fredericton, NB; sons, Ronald Henry (Dianne) of Arizona, Lorne Henry (Lanna) of New Maryland, NB and Gerald Henry (Ruth) of Iqaluit; grandchildren, Lisa McIntosh (Leonard), Brent Henry (Stephanie), Justin Henry and Eric Henry (Vanessa); several great grandchildren, sisters, Helen Durling and Marjorie Miller both of Fredericton, NB; brother, Alton Henry (Myrna) of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Lloyd Henry; sisters in law, Avis Henry and Laura Joslin; brothers in law, Sheldon Durling, Rev. Kenneth Miller and Irvine Joslin.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Monday, April 6, 2015 from 4-7 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at Gibson Memorial United Church on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 2 pm with Rev. Cora Krommenhoek officiating. Interment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Gibson Memorial United Church or Meals on Wheels.
