Obituary of Eva Thomas

The passing of Eva Kathleen (Cornish) Thomas of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Herbert Thomas occurred on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on April 24, 1928 in Maple Grove, NB, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Myrtle (Donally) Cornish. Eva was a member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church. Eva is survived by her daughter, Gail Kathleen Vidler (Ed) of Sarnia, ON; grandsons, Shawn Vidler (Leanne) of Sarnia, ON and Chris Vidler (Becky) of Lucan, ON; great grandchildren, Paige, Ryan, Carson and Josselyn; sisters, Leona Hood of Fredericton, NB and Jean Hopper of Prescott, ON; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Gladys Flinn and her brothers, Ian and Irvin Cornish and Theodore Merritt. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 2 pm with Rev. Canon Bonita LeBlanc officiating. Interment will take place in St. Paul’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Cross Creek, NB at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
