Obituary of Dorothy McGrand

The passing of Dorothy “Eileen” McGrand, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on March 18, 2015 at York Care Centre. Born on April 16, 1931 in Tripp Settlement, NB, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Alberta (Hawkins) McGrand. Eileen graduated from St. Joseph’s Hospital as a Registered Nurse in 1953. She loved to travel and was an active member of the CWL. Eileen is survived by her first cousin, John Cookson (Joan) of Kars, NB and several second cousins. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Sunday, March 22, 2015 from 2 to 5pm. A Funeral Mass will be held from St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church, Monday, March 23, 2015 at 11 am with Father John Jennings officiating. Interment will take place at St. Anthony’s Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
