Obituary of John Weatherhead CPA

It is with great sadness that the family of John (Jack) A Weatherhead announces his passing on March 17th, 2015 at the Doctor Everett Chalmers Hospital. John was born in Edmundston, NB June 10th, 1943. He was the son of the late LT John J. Weatherhead and Jean (Bernie) Dickeson. He is survived by his wife Gisele (Martin) of 47 years, his son John T. (Rachel LeBlanc) grand daughters Lexi and Morgan, son-in-law John MacLean (late Sandra Ann) and grand daughters Madison and Allyson; his sisters Penny Dickeson and Debbi Dickeson all of Fredericton, NB. His aunt Beth Weatherhead of Saint John and his mother-in-law Alexina Martin Violette (Gib) of Edmundston, NB. Also, he is survived by numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by infant son Michael and daughter Sandra Weatherhead MacLean and step father Hugh Dickeson and father-in-law Rino Martin. John will be remembered for love of his family and for being a dedicated and loving husband, father and grandfather. John enjoyed working with his clients as a self-employed chartered accountant for over 40 years. He was a Parishioner of St. Theresa’s Parish, member of the Knights of Columbus and volunteered for numerous charitable organizations. Prior to being limited by Rheumatoid Arthritis, John was an avid golfer at both the Edmundston Golf Club and Fredericton Golf Club. In spite of numerous health challenges he will always be remembered for his kindness, warmth and smile. Visitation will take place at the York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on March 20th, 2015 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday March 21st, 2015 at 11 a.m. from St. Theresa’s Parish, Fredericton, NB with Father John Jennings as celebrant. Interment will take place at a later date. Reception to follow in the church hall. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Hart and Dr. Beland for the excellent care given to John over the years and to the doctors and nurses of the ICU and CCU for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arthritis Society of New Brunswick, NB Heart and Stroke Foundation, Hospice Fredericton or donor’s choice.
