Obituary of Honey Canney

The passing of Honey Canney occurred on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Parkland Shannex Thomas Hall, Fredericton, NB. Born in Fredericton, NB on March 24, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Norman and Mabel (MacKinnon) Boulter. Honey held various types of employment during her lifetime but the last job outside her home was at the old Imperial Restaurant on Carleton Street where she met John and then made her home and family her full time employment. She kept busy doing preserves – hundreds of bottles each season (even winning some ribbons at the FREX) and also kept busy baking which she loved to do and how we family members loved to be the recipients of this baking! Honey was a long time member of St. Anthony’s CWL and on March 24, 2014 became a member of St. Anthony’s Elite 90’s Group. Honey was predeceased by her husband, John on December 16, 1995. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Gordon (late Lenora) Boulter, Doris (late Ralph) Smith, James Boulter, Lloyd Boulter and Greta (late George) Palmer. Honey was also predeceased by her special “Grand-Dog” Kaylee whom she loved dearly and most sadly we lost her other “Grand-Dog” Magic on March 11, 2015 also. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (the late Leigh) Donald of Charlottetown, PE; her son, Richard (Jacqueline) Allen of Bramalea, ON; granddaughter, Gerelyn (Bev) Moore of Fredericton, NB. Honey is survived by her brothers, Harold (Joan) Boulter, Vernon, BC, Ken (Florence) Boulter, Fort Saskatchewan, AB and Hazen (Bud) (the late Rosaline) Boulter of Fredericton, NB; sisters, Jessie (late Dave) Saunders, Shirley (late John) Finnie, and Barb (late Reid) Smith all of Fredericton, NB; sister-in-law, Verna Boulter; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass for Honey will take place on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church at 11 am with Father Monte Peters as celebrant. Reception to follow downstairs in Church Hall. Pallbearers for the service will be her four nephews, Ron and Tom Boulter, John Finnie and David Saunders. Interment will take place in St. Anthony’s Cemetery at a later date. Thank you to the staff of Thomas Hall for their assistance. Also a Special Thank-You to her sister Barb Smith for all her visits and treats.
