Obituary of Paul Seymour

Life Legacy It is with great sadness, the family announces the death of Paul R. Seymour of Fredericton which occurred suddenly at home on Friday, February 13, 2015. Born on February 8, 1937 in Fredericton, he was the son of the late Ralph and Myrtle (McCrea) Seymour. Paul retired from the Department of Health, after thirty years of service. Paul was active in many sports including hockey, baseball and curling in his younger years and golf later in life. He was also an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener. Paul was an honorary member of both the Fredericton and Miramichi Exhibition Associations and Past President of the New Brunswick Fairs and Exhibition Association. Paul loved music and often provided the musical accompaniment for kitchen parties and carol sings. He has passed that love of music on to his grandchildren. Paul was also an active member of Gibson Memorial United Church as an elder and choir member. Paul is survived by his wife, Marilyn (Ward); his children, Peter (Donna) of Nackawic and their children, Megan (Mike) and Erin (Tyler); Tim (Gillian) of Halifax, NS and their children, Zach and Will; Pam and Todd, both of Fredericton and his children, Tyler and Emily and their mother, Stephanie. He is also survived by brothers, Darrell (Dag) (Evelyn) and Bill both of Fredericton, and several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Karen; brother-in-law, George and granddaughter, Kaitlin. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at Gibson Memorial United Church on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 2 pm with Rev. Cora Krommenhoek officiating. Interment will take place in Seymour Memorial Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Gibson Memorial United Church or the Extra Mural Program.
