It is with sadness that the family of Harvey DuPlessis of Fredericton, NB announce his passing on February 9, 2015 at the DECH after a brief illness.
Harvey is survived by his children, Nathan (Tammy) of Moncton, NB, Nicole of Fredericton, NB and grandchildren, Noah, Elisabeth and Madison; his sisters, Nancy (Cynthia) of Scotch Lake, Elva Jean Grant of Perth, NB, Carolyn Grant of Toronto, ON and special cousin, Aubrey McCoy as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Harvey was predeceased by his parents, Johnson and Evelyn DuPlessis, his birth mother, Alice (Grant) Michaud, his sisters, Joan Mack, Joan Fraser and Norma Sheehan.
Harvey was a mechanic by trade and had his own business at one time. He loved “muscle” cars and owned a few over the years. He was a collector of guns, and really enjoyed caring for and displaying them. Harvey was an avid hunter and usually got his big buck on the last day! He loved spending time at the family cottage at Scotch Lake and driving his ATV all over the area. He was a big Elvis fan and loved to listen to his music “real loud”, especially when he had a few drinks.
The family would like to thank the staff of the ICU at the DECH, especially Dr. Aslam. Their care of Harvey was exemplary. A big thank-you to Rev. Adrien-David Robichaud for his caring and support at the hospital. Thanks, too, to Angela Ramsay for the care and kindness she gave while Harvey was at her care home, and to Larry and Kathy Mills at their special care home for their care of and friendship to Harvey. A special thank-you to Vince Whitehead for all his years of friendship to Harvey, especially his help through the hard times.
There will be no visitation, by Harvey’s request, however a celebration of his life will take place at a later date.
