Obituary of Margaret Lillian Dewar
The passing of Margaret Lillian Dewar of Fredericton, NB, wife of Herbert Dewar, occurred on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 22, 1934 in Emerald, PE she was a daughter of the late John and Margaret (Monaugh) Mohan. Lillian loved dancing and spending time with family. She enjoyed taking pictures and sharing them with others. She also enjoyed being around people, the larger the crowd the more she enjoyed it.
In addition to her husband, Lillian is survived by her daughters, Diane Fillmore (David) of Mactaquac, NB and Heather Cleveland (Daniel) of Fredericton, NB; son, Lane Dewar of Yellowknife, NT; grandchildren, Billy (Ellie) and Greg Fillmore (Shelley), Christine Fillmore-Holland (Joel), John Dewar, Mallory and Brittany Cleveland; great grandchildren, Seth and Ayden Fillmore and Violet Holland; sister, Shirley Carlisle of Jacksonville Beach, FL; brother, Emmett Mohan (Ethel) of St. Stephen, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Lillian was predeceased by her sisters, Marie MacDonald, Pauline Le Clair and Hilda James.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday February 3, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 10 am with Father John Jennings officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be grandchildren, Bill and Greg Fillmore, Joel Holland, John Dewar, Seth and Ayden Fillmore. Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery at a later date.
