Obituary of Gary Stapleford

The passing of Gary Wesley Stapleford of Fredericton, NB, loving husband of Elaine Stapleford occurred on Monday, January 26, 2015 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born on August 23, 1947 in Sussex, NB, he was the son of the late Wesley and Hazel (Anderson) Stapleford. He was the owner and operator of Electro Repair Ltd; he also worked for the City of Fredericton Water and Sewer Department. In addition to his wife, Gary is survived by his sons, James Stapleford (Sara) of Nova Scotia and Luke Stapleford (Cari) of Alberta; grandchildren, William, Rebecca and Oskar; sister, Marlyne Hill (Wayne); brother, Jack Stapleford; sister in law, Judy Stapleford all of Fredericton, NB; nephews, Scott, Darren, and Patrick Hill of Fredericton; nieces, Terri Fylling of Norway, Lori Thomas of Texas, and Vanessa Stapleford of Alberta. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Jim Stapleford. Gary was a wonderful husband, who loved his wife very much. He enjoyed surprising her with treats. He loved spending time watching his grandchildren play. He enjoyed working about his yard and took great care of it. He loved going to the movies. His favourites were westerns. Gary loved going for day trips in the car especially to Sussex, NB. Gary could often be seen out walking his dog Rocky, whom he enjoyed very much. There will be no visitation or service by request. Interment will take place in St. John the Evangelist Anglican Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Brain Tumour Foundation or the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
