Obituary of Reginald Halman

The passing of Reginald “Reg” Brian Halman formerly of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Marion (Carr) Halman, occurred on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Ridgewood Veterans Wing, Saint John, NB. Born on July 27, 1931 in Hardwick, NB, he was the son of the late Harry and Rita (Chapman) Halman. Reg was a Veteran of the Korean War and also served in Africa, Egypt, Vietnam and Germany. He had worked Hartt Boot and Shoe prior to his military career and after he was a Real Estate Agent at Gardiner Realty before forming his own company Halman Realty; he also worked as a Commissionaire at CFB, Shuffield, AB, he then returned to NB and worked at Trailer World and was a Bartender at the Fredericton Boat Club. He was an avid Bridge player and was proud to have played the Emperor of Cambodia, Nordem Seeanook. Reg enjoyed harness racing, owned horses and loved to golf. Reg is survived by his daughter, Marilyn Halman of Calgary, AB; sons, Brian Halman of Lincoln, NB, Danny Halman (Cheryl) of Fredericton, NB and Roger Halman of Medicine Hat, AB; granddaughter, Linda; brothers, Mackenzie Halman (late Dorothy) of Fredericton, NB and Lawrence Halman (Doris) of Ottawa, ON; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his son, Jerry; sisters, Lillian, Ella, Frances and Laura; brothers, Robert, James and Cecil. There will be no visitation or funeral at this time; a Graveside Service will take place at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the New Brunswick Lung Association.
