Fidler, William Wilfred
The passing of William “Bill” Wilfred Fidler of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at his home. Born on August 28, 1943 in Hardwood Ridge, NB he was the son of the late Wilfred and Eva (Drost) Fidler. Bill was a truck driver and drove cab for Checker Cab for several years; he was a fan of both the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Lisa Gaudet (Kevin Horncastle); step children, Todd Waite, Tracy Waite, Denis Hubley; sisters, June Alexander and Thelma Cartwright; special nephews, Doug Alexander (Rachel) and Don Alexander (Angela); special niece, Stacey Richard; other nieces and nephews, Dale Ellen, Gloria, Rick and Jeff Cartwright, Steven, Lori and Patty Gallagher; special friend and long time love, Sheila Gallant; best friend and caregiver, Lise Bourgoin; and supporting friend, Skip.
In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by sisters, Betty Fidler and Gloria Gallagher; brother, Bob Fidler; and brother-in-law, Earl Alexander; nephew, Bob Alexander.
There will be no visitation by request of the family. A Celebration of Life will be held from All Saints Anglican Church, Crock’s Point Road, Keswick, NB on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 11 am with the Ven. John T. Sharp officiating. The Celebration of Bill’s Life will continue at Bill’s home following the service. Interment will take place in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery at a later date. Honourary Pallbearers are Doug Alexander, Don Alexander, Dan Donnelly, Cedric LeClair, Glen Tompkins and Dick Price. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
