Obituary of Frances Murdock

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frances Agnes Murdock at York Care Centre on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the age of 85. Born in Chatham, NB, she was the daughter of the late Corina (Savage) and Richard Pittman. She was a loving wife to Harry and a wonderful mother to her five children: Gwen (Edgar), Corinne (Pat), Carl, Tom (Rolande) and Cheryl (Glenn). She will be missed by her grandchildren, Rachelle and Luke, Michael and Tom, Charlene and Donna, Karlie, Emma, Jane and Kate and two great-grandchildren, Mitchell and Trevor, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved brother, Stan. Frances loved gardening, sewing and travelling and enjoyed several trips to Europe and various cruises. No matter where she and Harry went, they loved to dance, being original members of the Thomist's Dance Club. She worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses over the years and had fond memories of her time at Devon Drug. In later years she and Harry moved to Douglas, where they never tired of the beautiful view and for several years welcomed visitors to their bed and breakfast. Frances was a graduate of Toastmasters and was past president of the Ostomy Association. Her faith was strong and she and Harry were active members of St. Theresa's Parish. Although there will be no visitation; a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 9, 2014 at St. Theresa's Church, 1 William Street at 11am with Father John Jennings as celebrant. Interment will take place in St. Samuel's Cemetery in Miramichi at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society, the Ostomy Association or the charity of your choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
