Obituary of Mary Currie

The passing of Mary Maude Currie of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Oscar Currie, occurred on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the York Care Centre. Born on April 25, 1914 in Douglas, NB, she was the daughter of the late Amerith and Maude (Gorman) Hawkins. She was a member of the Douglas Baptist Church and also the Senior Citizens Club. Mary is survived by her daughter, Lois Welke of London, ON; three grandchildren; Jenny Racich, Wendy Estergaard, and Christopher Francis; eight great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren. The family would like to send a special thank you to Ellsie Fullarton and her family, Betty Boyd and the many niece’s that have given their love and support to Mary throughout the year’s. Mary spent many years volunteering and taking care of friend in her community. Mary’s life will be celebrated by friends and family this coming spring.
