Obituary of Delores Lyons
The passing of Delores Lillian Lyons of Doaktown, NB, wife of the late Leonard Lyons occurred on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on December 23, 1935 in New Bandon, NB, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Rita Harris-Murphy. She was a member of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church. Delores was active in several community groups including the Doaktown Seniors Club.
Delores is survived by her daughters, Patricia Hunter of Fort St. James, BC, Lillian O’Donnell of New Bandon, NB and Vanessa Beek (Shane) of Boiestown, NB; sons, Lorenzo Lyons of Prince George, BC, Eugene Lyons (Tammy) of Fredericton, NB and Michael Lyons (Susan) of Fredericton, NB; nine grandchildren, Jody Hunter (Debbie), Stacey Boudreau (Jordon), Troy Hunter, Travis O’Donnell (Kristina), Matthew O’Donnell (Jessica), Jennifer Coleman, Lara Winning, Amanda Nash and Maggie Lyons-MacFarlane (Nicole); twelve great grandchildren; sisters, Yvonne Price of New Bandon, NB, Betty Dalton of Fredericton, NB and Viola Mullins (Francis ”Sonny”) of New Bandon, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her grandmother, Julia (O’Donnell) Harris; son, Gary David Lyons; grandson, Adam Beek; brother, Russell Harris; nephews, Donald Dalton, Timothy Dalton and Jason Mullins.
Visitation will take place at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Doaktown, NB on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 2 pm with Rev. Dr. Brian Spence officiating. Interment will take place in St. John’s Anglican Cemetery, Carroll’s Crossing, NB at a later date.
