Life Legacy It is with great sadness, the family announces the passing of Louis Edward Douglass of Gagetown Special Care Home, formerly of Taymouth, NB on Wednesday, October 15, 2014. Louis was born on July 17, 1926 in Marysville, NB; he was the oldest of ten children born to John Edward and Nettie Mae (Pond) Douglass. In addition to his wife, Florence Evans, Louis is survived by his children, William Douglass of Fredericton, Nancy Gill (Danny) of Red Rock, Gary Douglass of Taymouth, Ann Wood (Bruce) of Fredericton; grandchildren, Taylor, Megan, Jordan, Christopher and Sara; great grandchildren, Brooke Lynn, Jayden, Kameron and Damien; sisters, Eliona Young, Elizabeth Smith (John), Donnalene Flemming (Bradford) and Diane Seely (George); brothers, Guy Douglass and Stuart Douglass (June); sister in law, Shirley Douglass. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife and mother of his children, Hilda (Inman) Douglass; sisters, Verona MacNaughton and Jean Bubar; brother, John R. Douglass; sister in law, Flora Douglass; brothers in law, Gerald Young, Austin Bubar and Earle MacNaughton. The family would like to extend an enormous thank you to Marty, Colleen and all the staff at the Gagetown Special Care Home for the excellent care and compassion shown to dad over the past year and a half. You are second to none! Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Friday, October 17, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Taymouth United Church on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at 1 pm with Rev. Dr. Yvette Swan officiating. Interment will take place in Taymouth Community Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances in Louis’ memory, the family suggests the Taymouth United Church, Taymouth Cemetery Fund or the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation.
