Obituary of Leona Brandwood

The passing of Leona Minnie (Jones) Brandwood, wife of Jack Brandwood, occurred on Saturday September 6, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on June 11, 1930 in Fredericton, NB she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Mary (McCoombs) Jones. Leona was retired from the Province of New Brunswick and was a member of the Salvation Army Community Church. In addition to her husband, Leona is survived by brother, Hazen (Bounce) Jones; sister-in-laws Ellamargaret Canavan and Lorraine Jones; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Vince (Leona) Jones, Lloyd (Ethel) Jones, Ralph Jones and Dick Canavan; sisters Grace Jones, Annie (Willard) Gill, Dorothy Jones and Etta (Victor) Flood. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, on Monday September 8, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will take place at the Salvation Army Community Church on Tuesday September 9, 2014 at 2 pm with Major Larry Goudie officiating. Interment will take place in the Douglas Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Salvation Army, New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
