Obituary of Darlene MacPherson

The passing of Darlene Mae MacPherson of Durham Bridge, NB, wife of the late Royce MacPherson, occurred on July 12, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on January 21, 1936 in Marysville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Leona (Wade) Stafford. Darlene worked as a secretary for the RCMP for over 30 years, she was on the Fellowship Committee and sang in the choir at Marysville Baptist Church. Darlene was also a member of the Elm City Echoes and Stepping Stones Group. Darlene also volunteered for Bibles for Missions. Darlene is survived by her daughters, Beth LaBillois (George) of Waasis, NB, Murna Smith of Fredericton, NB, Bobi Gillespie (Bob) of Durham Bridge, NB; grandchildren, Dennis and Theresa LaBillois, Amy McLeod, Daniel, Kyle and Shaina Smith, Benjamin, Jeremy, and Kari Gillespie; great grandchildren Tristan, Sawyer, Scarlett, Wesley, Curtis, Mariella and Noah; sisters, Anna Marie Doucette of Marysville, NB, Marilyn McKay of Marysville, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Darlene was predeceased by her son, Trevor Scott. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB, on Monday, July 14, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Marysville Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 2 pm with Rev. Ralph Irving officiating. Pallbearers will be Daniel Smith, Kyle Smith, Benjamin Gillespie, Jeremy Gillespie, Derrick McKay and Tristan McLeod. Private Family Interment will take place in Centennial United Church Cemetery, Nashwaak Village. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, Bibles for Missions, Marysville Baptist Church or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
