Obituary of Ronald Lavigne

The passing of Ronald Joseph Lavigne of Fredericton, NB, husband of Kathryn (Brown) Lavigne, occurred on June 21, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. He was born on August 2, 1948 in Bathurst, NB, to the late Peter and Hazel Lavigne. Ronald graduated from Fredericton High School and Moncton Tec. He was a carpenter and worked at Science East for 12 years, he loved gardening and time at the lake in the summer. In addition to his wife, Ronald is survived by daughter, Melissa LaBlanc; sons, Christopher (Lisa) and Matthew (Megan) Lavigne; granddaughters, MacKenzie, Brooklynn and Amya; grandsons, Griffin Lavigne and Austin McLean; brothers, Cornelius Lavigne (Dorothy), Elmer Lavigne (Betty), Clifford Lavigne (Dianne) and Peter Lavigne (Cheri); sisters, Cora Crouse (Roy Jr) and Evangeline Soucie (Jerome); many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Edward Lavigne; sisters, Corrine and Mary Bertha. Although there will be no visitation by request of the family, a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 2 pm with Father John Jennings as celebrant. Interment will take place in St. Anthony’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lung Association or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
