Obituary of David Rogers

The passing of David “Dave” Rogers of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Betty (Nowlan) Rogers, occurred on Friday, June 13, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on December 31, 1928 in Stanley, NB, he was the son of the late James and Flora (Bowness) Rogers. David worked for many years with Diamond Construction as a Crane Operator. David enjoyed harness racing, sports, especially the New York Rangers and the Detroit Tigers, gardening and cutting wood for the winter months. David is survived by his sons, Reg Rogers of Calgary, AB, Rick (Lauren) Rogers of Fredericton, NB, Martin (Bonnie) Rogers of Calgary AB; grandchildren, Julie of Yellowknife, YT, Ryan and David of Calgary, AB, Kyle and Ben of Fredericton, NB, Kristy of Trenton, ON; great grandchildren, Jayden and Zoey; special niece, Carol-Ann McNeil; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, David was predeceased by his sisters, Mary Tays and Pauline Buscombe. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, on Monday, June 16, 2014 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm A Funeral Service will take place at Marysville United Church on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 11 am with Rev. Mac Campbell officiating. Interment will take place in Alexander Gibson Memorial Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Alexander Gibson Memorial Cemetery.
