True, Helen Almeda (nee Dykeman)
Passed away peacefully at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Sunday, April 13, 2014. She was born on September 17, 1914 in Maugerville, NB and resided there for over 99 years. She was a daughter of the late Harry and Eva May (Nickerson) Dykeman. Helen owned and operated True’s Plant Nursery for over 50 years and was a vendor at the City Hall Market and Boyce Farmer’s Market for over 80 years.
Helen is survived by daughters, Betty Anne Henry, Eleanor (Wayne) Thomas; son-in-law, Garry Aylward; chosen daughter, Ardeth Glenwright and her special dog Rugby and her kitties; grandchildren, Stacey (Tim) Broder, Kerry (Sean) McMinniman, Jason (Melanie) Thomas, Geoff (Krista) Thomas; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Zachary, Nikita, Tia, Kiana, Lauren and Kaleb.
She was predeceased by her husband Roath; son Donald; daughter, Barbara Aylward; granddaughter, Sarah Aylward; sons-in-law, Brian McMinniman and Hector Henry.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at Maugerville United Baptist Church on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 1 pm with Rev. Stephen Budd officiating. Interment will be in Maugerville Baptist Cemetery at a later date. Honourary Pallbearers are Jason Thomas, Geoff Thomas, Barry Thompson, Buzz Harvey, Kirk Spencer and Clinton Sharpe.
