Obituary of Cedric Marr

The passing of Cedric Neil Marr, husband of the late Shirley (Hale) Marr, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on June 19, 1930 in Bath, NB, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Bessie (Wallace) Marr. Cedric was an accountant with the New Brunswick Department of Transportation for over 35 years and was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church. He was also a member of the Nashwaaksis Y’s Mens Club, Fredericton Curling Club and the Fredericton Shuffleboard Club. Cedric loved country music, going to concerts; he was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed playing cards, puzzles, and traveling. Everyone enjoyed his dry wit and sense of humor. Cedric is survived by his daughter, Sharon Marr of Burns Lake, BC; son, Stephen Marr (Deborah) of Houston, TX; sister, Iris Drost of Ottawa, ON; grandchildren, Alicia Entz of Strathmore, AB, Caitlyn McMahon of Burns Lake, BC, Ryan McMahon of Abbotsford, BC, Kyle McMahon of Victoria, BC; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; he will be sadly missed by his dearest friend Joan Sabean. Besides his parents and wife, Cedric was predeceased by his brother, Wallace Marr. There will be no visitation or service by Cedric’s request. A Graveside Service for family and friends will take place in St. John the Evangelist Anglican Cemetery at a later date.
