Gorman, Evelyn Doris
Surrounded by her family, Evelyn “Tott” Doris Gorman passed away on Friday, March 7, 2014 at the Kingsway Care Centre, 7 weeks short of her 105th birthday.
Tott was born in Williamsburg, NB on April 30, 1909 to William and Margaret Dorcas and moved to East Riverside (Rothesay) in 1941. She was a self employed seamstress and worked frequently for the Riverside Golf and Country Club and was also on the dining room staff at the Country Club.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Randolph; daughter, Geraldine Bell; son in law, Jim Bell; seven sisters and six brothers. Tott is survived by her grandchildren, Linda Boudreau (Bob) and Mark Bell (Sheilagh); four great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; one great great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, March 17, 2014 from 10:30 - 11:30 am; followed by a Memorial Service at 11:30 am with Canon John Cathcart officiating. A reception will follow the service in the Fireside Room. Interment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
The family would like to sincerely thank Tott’s “second family”, all the staff at Kingsway Care Centre, for their care and devotion to Tott over the past few years. It is very much appreciated.
