Obituary of Beryl Bell

BELL, BERYL – The family of Beryl (Molyneux) Bell are sad to announce her passing, which occurred at home in Thomas Hall, Shannex Parkland, Fredericton, on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, in her 90th year. Beryl was born in Kensington, London UK, on March 22, 1924, the daughter of the late Edward and Bertha (Houghland) Molyneux. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 65 years, Wilfred L. “Bill” Bell, whom she met and married in England while he was serving overseas with the Canadian Army during World War II. She is survived by their three children, Ann Naylor (Rob) of Wasaga Beach ON, Ted (Dawn) of St. Thomas ON and Tracy Arsenault (Todd) of Fredericton; grandchildren Stephen, Julie, Jeffrey, Heather, Chris and special granddaughter Debbie; great-grandchildren Linden, Ethan, Paul, Willow and Piper; and sister Barbara Halliday (Johnnie) of Worcester Park UK. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers Eddie and Stanley, and her sister Marjorie. Beryl immigrated to Canada as a war bride in 1945, and she and Bill and their children lived in Toronto and other communities in Ontario prior to moving to Fredericton in 1974. She was an avid knitter, reader and a great cook. A visitation will take place on Saturday, January 18 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton. In celebration of Beryl’s life and her British heritage there will be a traditional English tea with some of her favourite teatime sweets served during the visitation.
