Obituary of Douglas McAloon
Douglas Arthur McAloon, age 77, husband of Margaret (Essensa) McAloon passed away peacefully at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Sunday, December 8, 2013 after a long battle with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. Born in Stanley, NB on January 3, 1936, he was a son of the late Harry and Hilda (Sansom) McAloon. Doug worked 28 years with Texaco and 2 more years with Imperial Oil, retiring from management in 1990. Doug was always there for family and friends when they needed him. Doug loved the outdoors, time at the lake, hunting, fishing, woodworking, curling, four wheeling, playing on the computer and photography. In addition to his wife, Doug is survived by his son, Michael McAloon (Shelley Irons); sister, Theresa Gorman (Royce); sister-in-laws, Mary McAloon-Jones (Alden), Glenna Muise (Lindsey), Shirley Watling and Maxine Essensa; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Doug was predeceased by his brother, Wilfred McAloon and nephew, Danny McAloon.
At Doug’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. A Private Family Burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of the donor’s choice.
