Obituary of Patricia Milbury

Surrounded by her family, Patricia Jane Milbury of New Maryland, NB, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 22, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Perth Andover, NB, on February 3, 1951, she was the daughter of Stuart and Roberta (Campbell) DeMerchant. Patricia was employed for 27 years in the business office of Clark's Chevrolet Cadillac, where she made many lasting friendships. A long-time member of Journey Wesleyan Church, Patricia was a woman of strong faith and loved Christ, her Savior. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who loved baking, gardening, and spending summers with her family at Davidson Lake. Patricia adored her grandchildren; they were her pride and joy and she will be forever theirs. Besides her parents, Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Paul; son, Calvin (Stephanie); daughter, Lisa Riley (Dale); special niece, Janna Estey; grandchildren, Jacob, Isabella, Maguire Riley, and Caleb Milbury. She will also be dearly missed by sisters, Lois Buckingham (Laurel), Barbara Lockhart (Eugene) and Judy Dixon (Nathan); brother, Donald DeMerchant (Jayne); mother-in-law, Aileen Milbury; sisters-in-law, Diane MacRae (Bob) and Cheryl O'Toole (Shawn); brother-in-law, Dean Estey; several uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces. Patricia was predeceased by her dear sister, Cheryl Estey and father-in-law, Eugene Milbury. Our family would like to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses who provided exceptional care to Patricia over the past months. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Sunday, November 24, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at the Journey Wesleyan Church, 131 Duncan Lane on Monday, November 25, 2013 at 2 pm with Dr. Laurel Buckingham and Rev. Matthew Maxwell officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be her nephews, Ward Dixon, David Buckingham, Zachary DeMerchant, Benjamin DeMerchant, Ryan O'Toole and family friend, Brad Jenkins. A reception will follow. Interment will take place at the Fredericton Rural Extension Cemetery. Suggested donations in memory of Patricia may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Victoria's Quilt Canada or the charity of the donor’s choice.
