Obituary of Mary Colford

The passing of Mary Marguerite Colford, formerly of Fredericton, NB, occurred on November 11, 2013 at Shannex, Thomas Hall, Fredericton, NB. Born on February 14, 1928 in Weaver Siding, NB, she was a daughter of the late Hugh and Mabel (Tucker) Colford. Mary was a member of St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church. She was a teacher in various places, retiring in Saint John, NB in 1985 from St. John the Baptist School. Mary is survived by her sister, Bernice O’Keefe of Fredericton, NB; brothers, Simon Colford (Lorna Rushton) of Fredericton, NB, Bob Colford (Myrtle) of Fredericton, NB and Vincent Colford (Peggy) of Blissfield, NB; sisters-in-law, Lavina Jean Colford; brothers-in-law, Walter Merrill, Alden (Mary) Jones and Peter Shewciw; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, John, Burton and Bernard; sisters, Louise Jones, Hilda Merrill, Elizabeth “Betty” Robichaud and Esther Shewciw; sisters-in-law, Patty Colford and Theresa Burns; brothers-in-law, Michael O’Keefe and Charles “Ned” Robichaud. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home Ltd., 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated from St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 11 am with Father John Jennings as celebrant. Interment will take place in Holy Name of Mary Cemetery, Blissfield, NB on Thursday November 14, 2013 at 3 pm with Father Joseph Okoko. Pallbearers are David Colford, Michael Colford, Douglas Jones, Brian Jones, Donald MacFarlane and Benjamin MacFarlane.
