Alex was a great friend of my mom Georgette Roy. She recommended Alex when we were looking for our home. He worked so hard for us we gave him a thank you gift. He really went above and beyond! Later when we decided to renovate Alex son did the work for us. We wish all the family sincere condolences. A mass will be said in his memory at Eglise Ste-Anne-des-pays-bas. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

Just wanted to tell everyone how nice Alex's celebration of life was delivered.
He would have been proud of each and everyone of you.
It was funny, sad and a true expression of how much his family loved and respected him. There was no doubt how much he adored Dawn throughout his life. She completed him.
I was reminiscing during the service of how in 1992 when Theo was gravely ill,Alex would stop by the hospital each morning on his way to work to check up on his friend and then tease me that I had an office set up in the quiet room as we were in the process of buying the building on Main Street. He was very worried about his old buddy. He cared!I will always remember his kindness.
I still remember his great laugh when I told him that I would pray for him when he was diagnosed with cancer.I told him that I used to be a nun but had kicked the habit! He got a great chuckle out of that.
We will have fond memories of him .God bless you all it has been a difficult road for each one of you.Keep in touch.

Please accept my condolences on the loss of your loved one.May great memories and your faith help you through this time of loss.
I didn't personally know Alex--but I'd like to pass on this bit of history--especially after reading that Alex still visited the Miramichi.
My dad (Edwin Morehouse) was from Upper Blackville and was a WW II veteran with the North Shore Regiment. While stationed in England, he met, fell in love with, and then in 1943 married a student nurse (Gwen Baker).
In Dec. 1944 war bride Gwen and 7 month old baby (that's me) sailed from England to Canada. Then after travelling from Halifax to Fredericton by
train,we boarded the Whooper for Upper Blackville.
Getting off there-with a baby, lots of hand luggage and a trunk (all of our worldly possessions) WHO do you think met us? Mr. Sharp, of course,
with a horse and sleigh!!!!!
My dad had returned earlier and was in the Lancaster hospital for quite some time.He died in 1983.Mum passed away- just short of 90 in May 2012.
In her eulogy it was mentioned about Mr. Sharp and the sleigh
and if a sleigh was used that meant SNOW. Mum always spoke of the wonderful welcome
she received.
I'll stop here but there's so much more I could say! Mum and Mrs. Sharp exchanged Christmas cards for years.
So even though I didn't personally know Alex, I do know he belonged to a great family.
Susan Morehouse--Plaster Rock

Dawn, we want to express to you and all the family our deepest sympathies at this time of your loss. It was indeed good to have known Alex and we know he will be greatly missed by you, your family and many folks in the Maugerville and Fredericton area. We appreciated his encouragement over the years - it was especially exciting to have seen him show up for church on a couple of occasions when we were pastoring in the Annapolis Valley. God's blessings to you all - we will keep you in prayer.

Some individuals you just don't forget. I first met Alex at Wilkins Airstrip when I was about 13. He was larger than life to me then and made a very lasting impression - nothing was a problem to him it seemed as the Fredericton Flying Club was just in infancy....great times for me and I will never forget flying with him and all the others at the time from the little airstrip that determined the course of my career.
I extend my deepest sympathy to the family - Alex was truly a great man in my books.

We were saddened to learn of the passing of Alex, a special friend for many years. We are so sorry and our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
Alex was one of a kind, always happy, always curious, always wanted know how things were. Our fondest memories were at Robertson Point where Alex, Dawne and the family spent quality and enjoyable times.
Who can ever forget Alex's big brown boat that cruised all day long, all over the watershed with Alex, sitting high at the helm. Mr.Irving loved that.
One evening, his boat broke away from anchor, and headed inshore. In the blink of an eye, many of the people on the Point arrived to help rescue his trophy. He never forgot this random act of kindness, and told me, and others, many times.
This was the measure of Alex, tried and true.
May the special memories you hold dear to your hearts provide comfort and solace at this time.
Sincerely Fay & Duncan
