Obituary of Alice Turnbull

The sudden passing of Alice Sylvia Turnbull of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the Campobello Lodge, NB. Born on May 18, 1928 in Campobello Island, NB, she was the daughter of the late Osborne and Doris (Matthews) Fitzgerald. Alice was married for 65 years to the late James Turnbull (September 18, 2012). In her younger years, Alice worked at H. W. Welch Sardine Factory, Campobello Island, NB. Alice is survived by her daughter, Trudy McLaggan (Corey) of Fredericton, NB; son, Clifton Turnbull of Fredericton, NB; her cherished grandchildren, Kyle McLaggan “nan’s man” and Alicia McLaggan “nan’s girl”; brother, Garth Fitzgerald (Mary) of Campobello Island, NB; sister in law, Gerri Fitzgerald of Ellsworth, ME; cousin, Larry Parker (Joyce) and his daughter, Melanie Parker, who referred to Alice as her “Ga Ga”; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her infant sister and brother, James Fitzgerald. A Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive on Monday, October 28, 2013 from 12:30- 2 pm; followed by a Memorial Service at 2 pm with Paul Blackmore officiating.
