My Sincere Heartfelt Condolences goes out to the whole Arbour family as they say goodbye (for now); to a wonderful brother, uncle, husband, father, etc...and friend.
I know of this man through my niece. In just the past week I have learned that this was a man who was well liked and had a remarkable zest for life. The town folk and everyone who this man made a difference to seemed to want to show homage

I am sometimes at a complete loss why the good ones have to be taken so early. For me, Gary will always be remembered for the guy who always kept his cool, regardless of what the situation was. Sometimes he would get angered saying "darn, darn"... and then he'd eventually smile. So many great memories!! To the family..... my sincere condolences. Gary is on a new mission now, to a higher power. RC

I am one of his many childhood friends from Park Garneau. Although I had not seen Gary for almost 50 years we finally got together again at a reunion back in 2009, and I have seen him 3 or 4 times since. He was still the same kind and gregarious kid that I knew when we were youngsters, and to think that one of his many accomplishments was that he became a stock car driver. Gary brought myself and a couple of our friends to our first stock car race when we were young teenagers, and I have never lost the bug. Thank you Gary. You will be greatly missed and be remembered at all our Park Garneau get together. Hoping you and Dennis will meet up and continue the tradition.

Please accept my deepest condolences. Gary and I worked together in Montreal (Dept. of Investigation with the Canadian Pacific Railway; as CPR Constables). We both headed to the Maritimes and Gary was assigned to Woodstock; then Fredericton. I was assigned to the Police Force, city of Saint John.
We were young men when we started our careers in New Brunswick and it is hard to believe so many years have passed.
Gary was destined to 'do good things'and to instill good in others. Gary had many families: His own family, Linda, Brandy and family, the Police Force family, the community family and the Province of New Brunswick. He was destined to serve and serve he did - in spades. Although the years have passed; they say there are some people 'you never forget'. Gary is one of those people.

To Lind, Brandy and Family,
I was floored and admittedly brought to tears when I learned of Gary's passing. It seems like yesterday when a fresh faced young police constable embarked on a dream come true as a police officer with 'B' Platoon and Sgt. Gary Arbour at the helm. As a new police officer, I couldn't have asked for a more caring, compassionate, PATIENT and understanding supervisor such as Gary. Gary exemplified what Sir Robert Peel had in mind when he said " Police, at all times, should maintain a relationship with the public that gives reality to the historic tradition that the police are the public and the public are the police; the police being only members of the public who are paid to give full-time attention to duties which are incumbent on every citizen in the interests of community welfare and existence." Indeed, he gravitated to this earning the respect and admiration of both his colleagues and the community. My heartfelt condolences to all of you during this most difficult time.

To Gary's family,
It is with great shock I learned of Gary's unexpected passing. Gary was very helpful and supportive of my chaplaincy when I first began way back in 2003. He took me around the station and introduced me to everyone, making me feel very welcome and appreciated. But then that was Gary's gift. He will be greatly missed by this community.
Knowing that Gary was a person of faith, and who lived his faith everyday, it is my prayer that the peace of Christ, that passes all human understanding may be your comfort at this most difficult time.
Blessings in Christ.
