Obituary of Queenie Brewer

We regret to inform you of the passing of Queenie Elnora Brewer, wife of the late Arwood Brewer, in Burtts Corner, NB on Saturday, October 19, 2013. Born in Dorn Ridge, NB on May 24, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Winslow and Matilda (Lawrence) Gallagher. She took pleasure in cooking, cleaning, knitting, bowling and greatly enjoyed her vegetable and flower gardens. Queenie dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Queenie is survived by two sons, Keith (Angela) Brewer of Fredericton, NB, and Laurel Brewer of Burtts Corner, NB; two daughters, Elizabeth L. Brewer of Fredericton, NB and Linda C. Brewer of Burtts Corner, NB; one son-in-law, Jack Young of Hamilton, ON; four grandsons, Sherman and Chadwick Brewer, and John and Jeffery Young; two granddaughters, Natalie Boyle and Andrea Brewer; five great grandsons; two great granddaughters; two chosen grandchildren, David and Shelly Jones; five sisters Clara (Earl) Phillips, Alberta Staples, Freda (Burpee) Jones, Guida Stairs and Madeline (Raymond) Sharpe; one sister-in-law, Iona Brewer; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Queenie was predeceased by one daughter, Priscilla Elaine Young; two sisters, Josephine (infant) and Greta Brewer, six brothers, Ottie, Allison, Milford, Hershel, Ralph, and George; five sisters-in-law. Although there will be no visitation, a Funeral Service will be held at the Burtts Corner Baptist Church on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 2 pm with Pastor Stephen Hoyt officiating. Interment will take place at the Burtts Corner Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Burtts Corner Baptist Church Building Fund or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
