Obituary of Lloyd Stewart
The passing of Lloyd Wallace Stewart of Fredericton, NB, husband of Frederica (O’Hara) Stewart occurred on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at the York Care Centre. Born on September 17, 1932 in Summerside, PEI, he was the son of the late John and Marjorie (Purdy) Stewart. Lloyd worked for IMT Bus Lines before transferring to SMT, a job he truly loved. He also worked for Eastern Bakeries as a route salesman and then Karnes Kitchen. Lloyd retired at 60, due to failing health. In 2009, he moved to York Care Centre, where he received excellent care until his death. Our special thanks to the staff for their wonderful care given to Lloyd during the four years he lived there.
In addition to his wife of 56 years, Lloyd is survived by his children, Patricia St. Pierre (Ben) of Fredericton, NB, Peter Stewart (Lynn) of Fredericton, NB, Sheila Stewart (Eldon Curtis) of Douglas, NB, Darren Stewart (Paula) of Fredericton, NB and Greg Stewart (Marina McQuaid) of Halifax, NS; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his grandsons, Michael and Colby Stewart; sister, Helen and brother, Wendall.
Visitation will take place at Gibson Memorial United Church on Monday, October 21, 2013 from 12-2 pm, immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 2 pm with Rev. Cora Krommenhoek officiating. Interment will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Gibson Memorial United Church or the charity of the donor’s choice.
