If you are reading this I have walked my last bridge, the bridge to eternity. Read Owen Doak went to join his father Charles Everett Doak in heaven on October 4, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, with his loving wife and best friend of 31 years Flora A. Hunter holding his hand. Read was employed with the Dept. of Transportation (Bridge Branch) for 25 years. Read was a adherent to St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Fredericton, NB and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Beaverbrook Branch # 80. He had a great passion for gardening, woodworking, reading, cooking and entertaining. Read is survived by mother, Doris (Hunter) Doak; brother, Arden Doak (Paulette) and their children, Scot (Tracy) and Amanda and her children, Jenna, Brianne and Austin; mother-in-law, Patricia Hunter; sisters- in – law, Wendy Hunter Werthmann (Edward), Heather Hunter and Cindy Lynn Hunter (late Edwin Haines); nieces and nephews, Alexander, Katarina, Ashley Hunter (James Givens) and their children, Addyson and Kyler, Allison Hunter (Ian Flanagan) and their children, Zakk and Zoey. He will be sadly missed by his furry children, dog Susie and his cats Sonny and Sher. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Monday, October 7, 2013 from 6-9 pm. A private family graveside service will be held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church Cemetery in Boiestown, NB with Rev. Kevin Stockall officiating. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to St. Peter’s Church Cemetery Fund or to the SPCA. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
