Obituary of Alton Norrad

With great sadness, the passing of Alton Lee Norrad of Bloomfield Ridge, NB, husband of Alberta (Storey) Norrad occurred on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at home. Born in Bloomfield Ridge on August 3, 1931, he was a son of the late Ethelbert and Winnifred (Howell) Norrad. Alton was a fishing guide for Porter Brook Lodge. Before his guiding career, he spent time in mining and trucking. In addition to his wife, Alton is survived by a daughter, Gail Norrad of Toronto, ON; sons, Keith Norrad of Bloomfield Ridge, NB, Kevin Norrad (Brenda) of Taxis River, NB, Trent Norrad of Bloomfield Ridge, NB; grandchildren, Aleisha, Dustin, Jillian, Christian Scott, Whitney and Lindey; several nieces and nephews. Alton was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Isabelle, Zona and Flossie; brothers, Alwyn, Starr, Jack, Ernest “Buster”, Vance, Peter, Benny, Cecil, Lancey and Robin; grandson, Corey McGivney Norrad. Visitation will take place at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home, 7865 Route 8, New Bandon, NB on Saturday, August 31, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Miramichi Valley Funeral Home on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at 2 pm with Pastor David Storey officiating. Interment will be in Cameron Hill Cemetery.
