Obituary of Betty Goddard

The passing of Betty Olive Goddard of Douglas, NB, wife of the late Clarence Goddard, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Saturday, June 29, 2013. Born on March 11, 1927 in Mouth of Keswick, NB, she was the daughter of the late William and Agnes (Morris) Mann. Betty was a homemaker, and member of the Nashwaaksis United Church and UCW. Betty is survived by her brothers, Jim (Mavis) Mann of Port Hope, ON and Donald Mann of Keswick, NB; sister, Peggy (Ralph) Irving of Fredericton, NB; special niece and nephew, Agnes Whitaker and Earl Dunphy; several other nieces and nephews; chosen son, Stevie Hawkins of Mississauga, ON. Besides her husband and parents, Betty was predeceased by her sisters, Grace Jewett, and Dora Dunphy; brothers-in-law, Fraser Jewett and Earl Dunphy Sr.; sister-in-law, Ann Mann. Although there will be no visitation by request, a celebration of Betty’s life will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Wednesday, July 03, 2013 at 2 pm with Rev. Gil McKenzie and Rev. Ralph Irving officiating. Honorary pallbearers for the service will be Brent Dunphy, Jeff Dunphy, Tony Whittaker and Troy Whittaker. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Keswick Cemetery or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
